This isn’t your normal game of Hide and Seek. She’s in this game alone, so her only opponent is herself. The only thing keeping her from finding it, is herself. I know you’re probably wondering now, “what is she looking for”? I will tell you, but you have to hear the story first.
She’s looking for it because she’s not happy. People say she has the right to be sad, mad, angry, hurt, upset… and they’re right. She does have that right. We as humans naturally have the right to feel because that’s just human nature. However, she just can’t wrap her head around the fact that this is considered “a right”. This right, or privilege per say, is depressing her. The only privilege she wants is happiness. “We have the right to be happy, don’t we”?
Privileges are generally optional. They can be given and taken away, but Happiness, it is a little different.
“Happy are the people whose God is Lord” – Psalm 144:15
She has heard that all before, but it doesn’t make sense to her. Her overwhelming reality was not matching up with what the Word says.
Things were getting real for her… but they weren’t getting true. The honest truth is, she lost the ability to see what was always there. She was being so infiltrated with deception that her reality was unbecoming of truth.
“True. alēthinós (“substantially true”) refers to what is essentially true – connecting (visible) fact to its underlying reality”
Feelings come and go, but truth is ALWAYS there. We just have to look for it at times because its underneath reality. So even though she didn’t feel happy, it did not mean she wasn’t. I know you probably assumed she was looking for happiness, but no, she was looking for truth. Because finding it is the only way she can truly become who she is.
With truth, she will know she is more than a conqueror.
With truth, she will know she is strong.
With truth, she will know she is fearfully and wonderfully made.
With truth, she will know she is redeemed.
With truth, she will know she is healed.
With truth, she will know she is Happy.
So she withdrew all the unwanted privileges until the the hidden reality was exposed, and the only thing left was truth.
And guess where she found it…
She found it in God.
Now that she knows the Truth, it is time for her to Become it. In God, TRUE Happiness is not a feeling, it is a constant state of being… it’s who we are in Christ, so don’t let reality deceive you into thinking otherwise.
